1. India – Israel Industrial R&D Cooperation (MATIMOP):

The Israel Innovation Authority cooperates with Indian colleagues at the central and state level, as well as with stakeholders from the private sector, to enable and implement access to funding programs devoted to the development of R&D-driven partnerships among Israeli and Indian companies.This government level program based on bilateral agreement between Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the State of Israel.

2. Department of Science and Technology:

Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Space of State of Israel (MOST) are facilitating financial support for joint research activities to researchers of India and Israel.Joint studies should be based on:

Research projects should be planned on a two-year basis with an extension until the end of 2019. Sanction orders will get signed for the implementation of the project accordingly. DST and MOST can issue a special Call for Proposals during the second year of the ten sanctioned projects for an option of a third year with the additional budget.

3. Israel Trade & Economic Office, Embassy of Israel:

India is the biggest purchaser of Israeli military equipment, and Israel is the second largest defense provider to India after Russia. Bilateral trade between two countries was at US$4.52 billion in 2014.Relations further expanded during current PM Modi’s administration which abstained from voting against Israel in the United Nations in numerous resolutions. The two countries are negotiating a comprehensive bilateral free trade agreement, focusing on areas such as information technology, biotechnology, and agriculture.

4. India-Israel CEO Forum:

5. Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO):

DRDO is premier R&D organization of the country which works on several areas of military technology to qualitatively address demands of Indian defense system. It works under the Department of Defense Research and Development of Ministry of Defense.Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), India and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) began co-operating on a jointly developed surface-to-air rocket system for the Indian Army in 2015. Indian officials acquired several missiles and launchers from the Israeli military in 2015. Relations between two countries increased intensely since the election of PM Modi in 2014, as Israel exported US$ 662 million worth of Israeli weapons and defense items to India.

6. Embassy of India, Tel Aviv:

India and Israel have mutual agreements in several sectors such as IT, Pharmaceuticals, agriculture, etc.  A major export from India to Israel comprises textiles, diamonds & metals, and chemical products. The bilateral trade between India and Israel (Excluding defense) was US$ 4.16 billion in 2016-17.Israeli companies have invested in India in energy, renewable energy, telecom, real estate, water technologies, and are also setting up R&D centers and production units in India. There has been a significant investment from Indian companies in Israel (especially in IT and Pharma sector).

7. MASHAV:

MASHAV is Israel’s organization for International Development Collaboration in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its Capacity Building Program includes a broad range of training programs for development in various areas.Since 2013, Israel is helping India to expand and raise the yield of its fruit and vegetable crops by offering the country cutting-edge technology and know-how. As a part of India-Israel agricultural cooperation, 26 senior agriculture officers from twelve states across India will participate in a MASHAV training program on modern irrigation and fertilizing technologies.  The program aimed at sharing Israel’s proven expertise and research in irrigation and fertilization with Indian experts so that they can adapt these modern technologies to the local needs and conditions in India.

8. Indian Space Research Organization – Israel Space Agency:

The Indian Space Research Organization and the Israel Space Agency signed an agreement to boost partnership in the development of electric impulsion systems for small satellites and to produce systems to measure the extreme circumstances of outer space accurately.During the recent visit of PM Modi, a collaborative treaty signed between Asher Space Research Institute, Israel and the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology.  This agreement aims to organize joint study and research exchange programs.

9. Israeli National Emergency Medical Service, MDA:

The Israeli National Emergency Medical Service, MDA works to advertise awareness of international humanitarian law among the public in Israel, by giving instructions and guidance in cases of accidents.MDA (Magen David Adom) and the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), conducted a joint training program during July 2017 intended at enhancing and upgrading the IRCS first-responder skills.

10. T-Hub:

T-Hub or Telangana Hub is a government of Telangana enterprise and is India’s largest incubator for start-ups. It was established with an aim to build an environment that not only accommodates local entrepreneurs but also acts as an entrance for anyone who wants to start a tech company in India.T-Hub educates and encourages all entrepreneurship related stakeholders including investors, startups, incubators and accelerators, research centers, etc. Recently they have signed a MoU with Tel Aviv University’s entrepreneurship center StarTau.

1. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII):

CII is a leading business organization in India which works to create a sustainable environment conducive to the development of India. It is a non-government industry-led organization which plays a proactive role in India’s development process.CII organizes several trade fairs, business conferences and international trade delegations for further increasing the scope of economic and industrial association between the two countries. In September 2016, a delegation of Confederation of Indian Industries CEO’s visited Israel to understand drivers of innovation and entrepreneurship.

2. Start-Up Nation Central Ltd.:

Start-Up Nation Central Limited unites companies and countries to the people and technologies in Israel that can solve their most demanding challenges. It is a non-profit organization and official source for Israeli innovation community.Start-up Nation Central reports that there are almost 400 organizations in Israel working in the digital health sector. They have summarized a report for building stronger connections between India & Israel and capitalizing Israeli innovation to address some of India’s critical issues and needs correctly.

3. Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC):

FICC is one of Israel’s biggest business organizations.  It provides services to members in a range of areas: business networking, information of new markets, business opportunities, local and international tenders, approvals, legal advice, rules and regulations on international trade, etc.FICC is a non-profit non-government enterprise that represents the interest of Israel’s business sector and is instrumental in forging commercial ties that eventually paved the way for diplomatic relations with countries like the USSR, China, India, and Indonesia.

4. Pears Program for Global Innovation:

Pears program works to increase Israel’s contribution to global development through technology-based solutions to problems faced by people affected by poverty. They are focused on addressing the demand of the remaining population of the world facing most demanding challenges like food, water, education, and healthcare.Recently, they organized India-Israel Med4Dev healthcare hackathon, to bring together innovators from the two countries to develop solutions to tackle healthcare challenges of India’s poor.

5. Startupindiahub (India-Israel Global Innovation Challenge):

India, world’s most dynamic emerging market and Israel, one of the most innovative nations in the world are joining hands to address world’s most pressing innovation challenges. The applications for this program will open on 10th September 2017.It is being implemented by being organized by Invest India and the Israel Innovation Authority, is targeting early-stage startups and companies in agriculture, water, and digital health.

This apex organisation is responsible for bringing a number of business delegations to Israel in different sectors including but not limited to defence, HLS, and agriculture. Last year, the forum laid claim to the signing of as many as 12 strategic pacts between Indian and Israeli companies envisaging investments worth $4.3 billion.

8. International Defense and Homeland Security Expo (ISDEF):

    FICCI is the apex industry body of India and the secretariat of the India-Israel CEO Forum. We bring in a number of business delegation to Israel every year in Defence.HLS; Water; Agriculture; Start-ups and one of the most active partners in the India-Israel Business Corridor and hence surprised to see that we are not in this list
